About Us

Chicago Food Planet Food Tours was established to help visitors and local residents find the ultimate Chicago food and cultural experience off-the-beaten-path. We began our research by enjoying the delicious ethnic foods and diverse musical and entertainment venues that existed within Chicago’s liveliest, historic neighborhoods.

The adventure truly began 8 years ago by simply strolling through these wonderful neighborhoods and taking in all that was offered. We sampled the perfect potato pancake, sipped on succulent Rooibush red teas, and tasted fresh cinnamon from perhaps the best spice and herb specialty store in the entire world. From there we relaxed in a tiny café and listened to an elderly man play the piano as though he had 15 fingers.

These experiences, and many others, inspired us to create Chicago’s finest culinary and cultural tasting tours that are given in the most beautiful and heartiest areas of Chicago on our Near North Food Tour and Bucktown/Wicker Park Food Tour.

Chicago Food Planet continues to offer unique and entertaining walking, tasting, and discovery food tours to residents and visitors from around the world.
