You can’t think October without Oktoberfest. And you can’t think Oktoberfest without beer.

And luckily for us Chicagoans, the beer industry in our city is booming. In fact, six new breweries are expected to launch in the Chicagoland area before the end of 2013. That’s a lot of beer.

And as far as Oktoberfest goes — or OktoBEERfest, as we prefer to call it — these local breweries are keeping the German tradition alive with special seasonal beers that are perfect for fall. But get ’em while you can — just like October, these brews won’t be around forever. (Glass boot not required.) Prost!
