Chicago Food Planet's Story
~ 2006 ~

We began our research over 15 years ago when we started strolling the Gold Coast and Old Town neighborhoods in search of the famous foods Chicago was known for.

The love affair began with our first bite of Chicago deep-dish pizza from Lou’s, quickly followed by the aroma and taste of the Lake Shore Drive seasoning from The Spice House, and for dessert a delicious piece of butter toffee from The Fudge Pot.

We continued exploring Chicago’s other celebrated neighborhoods one delicious taste at a time and devoured as much historical, architectural and cultural anecdotes along the way.

These experiences combined with many others inspired us to create Chicago’s first neighborhood food experiences through our most historic and savory “off-the-beaten-path” communities that visitors and even locals don’t typically encounter.

The team at Chicago Food Planet is proud to share our knowledge and discoveries with you today and our hope is that you’ll return to these neighborhoods with confidence and take advantage of the wide range of food, entertainment and cultural options they have to offer.
