Take an easy stroll through Wrigleyville, home of the Chicago Cubs and the landmark historical Wrigley Field. The Chicago neighborhood known as Wrigleyville is not only the home of the Chicago Cubs, but also a fun and vibrant area filled with many bars, activities, restaurants, stores and more! Located a few miles north of The Loop, Wrigleyville is part of the central Lakeview neighborhood and is named for historic Wrigley Field which, when built in 1914, drew droves of people to the area. You’ll get a detailed view of the community focused Gallagher Way that has become the central hub of the Wrigleyville neighborhood.
You’ll discover some hidden gems with us while enjoying traditional brunch-time fare, Bloody Marys, and stories of Chicago’s past. Who invented the Bloody Mary? Why are there so many variations of the popular drink? These are just a few of the questions to be answered on this narrated Sunday brunch tour. At each of the eateries that we visit, you’ll be able to indulge in the area’s thriving restaurant scene with portions that add up to a meal. Not a fan of Bloody Mary’s? Guests can elect day-of to substitute for other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink options.
Your tour starts right across from the historic ballpark and provides guests with a unique perspective of what is a baseball centric neighborhood that has a varied past. Along the way you will stop by many local eateries to sample everything from brunch classics like vegetable quiche to instagram-worthy buffalo chicken waffle cones. This tour is great for anyone who would like to explore the surprising array of food and history that Wrigleyville has to offer. Come hungry; there is a lot of unique food to try. This is your chance to capture your obligatory photos in front of the famous Wrigley Field Marquee and iconic statues.
Enjoy stories about Zachary Taylor Davis, the architect of Wrigley Field. His vision, much like that of Gallagher Way, was that Wrigley Field would be a place not just for those who wanted to watch a game, but for those who wanted to soak up every essence of summer. Taste creations born from famous chefs like Chef Tony Matuano. Chef Matuano is best known as a Chef and Partner at Spiaggia, a Michelin starred Italian restaurant on Michigan Avenue. He’s been on Top Chef, Top Chef Masters, The Today Show and is has partnered with Joe Maddon on Maddon’s Post. Additionally, you’ll hear insider stories and lore of past and present Chicago Cubs players, coaches and more!
Occurring on non-game days only, this tour will help you escape the crowds of downtown and experience a glimpse of a local’s daily life in the neighborhood. Along the way, your expert guide will educate and entertain you with stories and insights into the culture, architecture and history of the area.
